Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour championship, took control to create a final set.

The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
